Music The Emotional Conductor

Recently I bought another copy of an album that was lost years ago.  Refreshing my memory as I listened to the tracks but at times digging up feelings that were kept hidden for a long time.  Reminding me how important the artists songs were personally, giving me strength, courage and hope at a really dark point in my life.  Now in the present listening to the same album bring me feelings of accomplishment, strength and reaffirmed how far I have come. I'm sure that most people have a particular song or album that has 'struck a cord' with them?

You are responsible for your own happiness and your well being but with depression it becomes overwhelming.

I have power songs that help to encourage or release certain emotions. I didn't always have 'power songs', a friend of mine introduced me to the idea. So e.g. if i'm angry or upset by someone my choice of 'power song' would be EMF Unbelievable.

Robin Miriam Carlsson
Robyn, an amazing artist and producer from Sweden.  Her music helped me  through an abusive relationship.  Sounds corny but hand on heart, she really did help me to see that I was far from being treated properly.   Who's that Girl helped me see the manipulative behaviour. With Every Heartbeat gave me strength to finish the relationship.

So I am actively making an extra effort to make some positive choices in  my life.  Getting away from negative people who bring you down, including individuals on social media. Starting a Yoga course and of course having a ITunes playlist full of positive influential music!
